चमोली के अधिकारियों ने धौली गंगा के प्रवाह को अवरुद्ध करने वाले मलबे को हटाना शुरू कर दिया है, जिससे एक अस्थायी झील का निर्माण हो रहा है।

नदी में पानी का प्रवाह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अब अर्थमूवर्स तैनात किए गए हैं।
अधिकारियों ने कहा कि तमक नाली क्षेत्र में मलबे ने धौली नदी के प्रवाह को आंशिक रूप से अवरुद्ध कर दिया है, जिससे घिल गंगा और धौली गंगा के संगम पर लगभग 300 मीटर लंबी, 60 मीटर चौड़ी और तीन मीटर गहरी एक अस्थायी झील बन गई है।
उन्होंने बताया कि फिलहाल नदी के केवल एक-चौथाई हिस्से यानी 15 मीटर में ही पानी बह रहा है और इसे 30 मीटर तक चौड़ा करने का काम शुरू हो गया है।
